How to get your story in.

What if the heroes and villains of the X-Men's world were no more than ordinary people? What if there was no such thing as Genosha or the Astral Plane, and shapeshifting or telekinesis were mere figments of the imagination? Where would Xavier's followers and foes be, without the Professor's School for Gifted Youngsters? Perhaps their lives would be something like this...

*What's this all about?

It's an archive of stories from several different authors, each concerning a different X-character. In those stories, mutants do not exist- the X-Men are mere humans. There isn't anyone with fancy powers. No Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, no New Mutants, no Shi'ar technology or Genosha.

For each Marvel character, there can be only one story in which they appear as a main character. Authors have to claim the character in order to write a story about him/her; it's a first-come, first-serve deal. Scroll down to see which characters are taken, and a list of ideas for those which aren't.

Note on the Use of Characters: You must tell me, MissyRed, what character(s) you're going to use. You can write them all in the same story (keeping in mind that there were no X-Men, and so the characters would have to have met in a different way), or you can write multiple stories. Original characters are swell. Don't use a Marvel character without telling me, though, because somebody else might already be using them (no matter how obscure they may seem).

Also, once you've taken a character, you're expected to write the story! Don't just wait around. Others may want the character. If you take more than a month to write, just send me a note saying you're still interested in participating. Otherwise, I'll list that character as "untaken" again.

*When you're done...

Sending it in: You can send it in any form... except .mim. I can't take .mim, for some reason. Word documents are great, .txt is awesome. Everything will eventually be htmled by me. Make sure you make it obvious what you want to be in italics, underlined, or bold.
